River Tubing and Floating: Family Friendly Places Close to Edmonton You Can Take the Kids

River tubing & floating is so much fun! And a great way to beat the Summer heat. Before heading out, be sure to:

  • Contact the location to make sure it is open & check operating hours/possible closures
  • Pack towels, water bottles & sun screen
  • If you have water shoes or a water-proof bag for your things, grab those too!
  • Your own tube, if you have it

Yes, you will get wet! Get those bathing suits on 🙂

Where You Can Tube/Float

Edmonton River Float

Book your tube and shuttle package online, head down, get on your shuttle and your gear will be waiting and ready for you to get in the water with. Exit where you started (before you got on the shuttle) & walk your gear back

Located right in Edmonton – start point is Kinsmen Park

Discovery Canyon

Rent a tube or bring yours along to ride down the river. There is a beach area, park and concession stand close by – contact them before hand to reserve a rental/shuttle service if needed.

Distance from Edmonton: Approx 1.5 hours

Devon Lifestyle

Book a float time before – if you are using their shuttle service, you also need to rent their tubes.

Distance from Edmonton: 30 minutes

Pembina River Tubing

Enjoy a slow, 3.5 hour float. Rent a tube or bring your own. Book your time slot online

Distance from Edmonton: Just over an hour

Whitecourt River Slides, Rotary Park

Bring your own tubes (rentals not available) – river slides are about a minute long each – go down and walk back up to do it all again!
