We had the chance to experience the Midas Monster Truck Throwdown on August 22, 2026, at Rad Torque Raceway, and it was such an exciting experience for our family!

Get Up Close with the Monster Trucks

As we entered the venue, the monster trucks were already parked and ready for the show. It was a great opportunity to see just how big these trucks really are up close — almost like a museum of monster trucks!

Our family also had the chance to meet some of the drivers and ask for autographs during the Pit Party. You didn’t even need to bring paper for the drivers to sign because Rad Torque Raceway had an awesome poster ready for everyone. Such a thoughtful touch!

There was also a monster truck ride by the Area 51 North Monster Truck Ride Team, which was a really cool experience.

And to help everyone cool down from the summer heat, free ice cream was available as you entered the event. 🍦

Food and Family-Friendly Amenities

Since the event took place around dinner time and outside food and drinks were not allowed, Rad Torque Raceway had plenty of options available. Several food trucks were on-site, giving families a variety of choices while enjoying the massive monster trucks in action.

You could also bring your own tumbler. Just make sure it is empty when you enter, as there was a refill water station available at the venue.

Before the show started, souvenir shops were also available where you could find cool license plates, T-shirts and other merchandise.

If your little ones need something to do while waiting for the show, there was also a playground available for them to enjoy.

Portable toilets and hand-washing stations were also available at the venue.

Don’t Forget Ear Protection!

Monster trucks are LOUD! 🔊

If you’re bringing young children, we highly recommend bringing ear protection for them. Earplugs are also a good idea for adults who are sensitive to loud sounds.

Let the Monster Truck Action Begin!

The time finally came for the show to start!

Before the monster trucks were introduced, everyone was respectfully asked to participate in singing the national anthems of the United States and Canada.

Then it was time to meet the monster trucks!

The trucks featured in the event were Roughneck (an Alberta local), Crude Behaviour (an Alberta local), Avenger, Blockhead, Dirt Crew, Mayhem, Sabotage and Train Wreck.

The drivers showed off a variety of impressive tricks, including donuts, sky wheelies, wheelies, stoppies, cyclones and more. They also used wrecked vehicles as ramps for some of the big jumps.

The trucks put on an excellent performance, and at the end of this category, Mayhem earned the highest score and was declared the winner.

Monster Truck Quad Wars

The second half of the event was the Monster Truck Quad Wars, where the trucks raced against each other.

And once again, Mayhem came out on top!

FMX Exhibition

Before the freestyle category, there was an intermission featuring the Hard Kastle FMX freestyle motocross riders.

Their breathtaking stunts added even more excitement to the evening and gave the crowd something different to enjoy while the monster trucks prepared for the next part of the show.

The Freestyle Finale

For the finale, each monster truck showed off its freestyle stunts and tricks, bringing even more excitement to the crowd.

The trucks performed a variety of impressive moves, and the crowd was cheering throughout the performances.

Dirt Crew took the win in this category, while Mayhem was named the overall champion.

One More Chance to Meet the Drivers

Before the event ended, the organizers gave fans who were unable to attend the Pit Party another opportunity to meet the monster truck drivers and get autographs.

It was a great way to end an already exciting evening!

Our Family Experience

What an amazing experience for our family! Our 1-year-old may be a little too young to appreciate the monster trucks just yet, but we had such a fun time experiencing the event together.

From seeing the massive trucks up close and meeting the drivers to watching the racing, FMX performances and monster truck stunts, there was plenty to see and experience throughout the evening.
