KidSport Edmonton is a local chapter of KidSport Canada that helps children and youth in Edmonton take part in organized sport by providing financial support for sport registration fees. The goal is to make sport accessible for families who might otherwise struggle to cover the costs.
How the Grant Works
-
You must register your child in a sport program first before applying
-
The grant is applied directly to the sport club or program after you are approved
-
The program covers sport registration fees only (it does not pay travel, tournament fees, or volunteer opt-out fees)
-
If your child needs equipment, KidSport can refer you to Sport Central for gently used gear after approval
How Much You Can Get
-
For 2026 applications, families living in Edmonton can receive up to $300 per child toward sport registration fees if eligible
-
Some higher amounts may be available for specific ice hockey programs sanctioned through Hockey Edmonton
How to Apply
-
Visit the KidSport Edmonton grant page and complete the online application or use the paper form – fill it out and either mail it in or email the completed form to: edmonton@kidsport.ab.ca
-
You will need to submit proof of sport registration and some financial documentation with your application
-
If you need help with the application, KidSport Edmonton offers support by email or phone
