Blackfalds Abbey Centre | Just $20 for the whole family, this outdoor waterpark near Red Deer has something for all ages—from water slides for older kids to a splash park for little ones. Open now and perfect for a day trip! Pictured above.

Discovery Canyon | Open for summer starting June 1, this river-fed water pool with a shallow tubing area and beach is a local favorite near Edmonton. It’s FREE with your own tube or $7/person to rent. On site: a playground, concession, and washrooms.

Sylvan Lake Wibit Obstacle Course | The Wibit at Sylvan is a must-try summer activity for kids 6+. Choose from 1-hour ($18), half-day ($29), or full-day ($40) passes. Check their website for details. Opens for Summer, 2025 on June 14.

The event on this day is private and exclusive and not open to walk-ins on event day. You need pre-purchased tickets to be able to attend this event
This is a super-low capacity event and will be kept that way – tickets are very limited to keep the lines short for the slides and to avoid a large crowd – so once tickets are sold out, there will be no more available! Get yours sooner than later, as these events do tend to sell out completely.

Free Kids Crafts Are Back at Michaels – Sunday Makebreak Events

Guided, themed crafts for kids for free! Michaels hosts craft days for kids and they are so much fun! They’re actually for all ages and parents are welcome to join in too – or take a walk around the store while the kiddos create their masterpieces.

When: Drop-in on Sunday afternoons anytime between 2 pm to 4 pm

Where: Michaels stores (you can call your local Michaels to confirm they participate)

Cost: Usually free, but some projects may have a cost – check the website ahead of time or call your local Michael’s store to confirm.
