Kelowna Family Fun: Things to do in the Okanagan With The Kids

Travelling to the Okanagan with the kids? We put together a list of fun things to do with the family in and around Kelowna ⇓

Splashdown Vernon Outdoor Water Slides

This outdoor water slide park is located 5km North of Vernon and you are going to want to make a stop here. There are multiple slide options for all ages – from toddlers to older kids & adults – and one of the funnest tube slides we have ever been on. You can also expect:

  • Gorgeous view
  • Oversized hot tub
  • Lots of shaded picnic tables
  • Optional VIP cabana rentals
  • Kids Zone play structure (kids will need socks)

Bring your own food or buy lunch or snacks at the concession on site. Get deals on admission during twilight hours or get group/family rates. Dry seniors and kids 3 & under are free to get in. Season typically runs from the beginning of June to September 1 – but double check the website for updated information.

Kangaroo Creek Farm

The Kangaroo farm is located just minutes from the Kelowna airport. It is an interactive petting zoo where you can spend the day with real kangaroos and other animals. More things to do there:

  • Face painting (free with your admission!)
  • Hold baby kangaroos – joeys are sometimes available for cuddling and taking photos with
  • See and hold reptiles and other exotic animals
  • Play! There is a large section dedicated to children’s play with multiple structures to climb on and explore
  • Live feature shows
  • Spend time with the animals – you can expect to see wallabies, goats, peacocks, and of course – kangaroos – walking around the property with visitors.

This facility is cash only. Adults are $10, youth and seniors are $5 and kids under 5 are free. They are usually open 7 days a week from Spring Break to the end of September

H2o Adventure + Fitness Centre

There is an indoor pool in this facility with giant slides – my kids were in love. They spent hours here on a rainy day and asked to go back. Must-do if you are planning indoor play in Kelowna.

Adventure Farms

There are tons of adventure farms in Kelowna. We got lucky driving by and seeing signs for a great one close to where we were staying (always watch for the hidden local gems!). Find animals, mazes, outdoor games and more. Worth checking out:

Davison Orchards

Davison orchards are located on the edge of Vernon, which is approximately 45 minutes from Kelowna. This isn’t your everyday orchard. Aimed at families, you can expect:

  • Huge open spaces to play
  • Farm themed play structures
  • Tractor-led tours every hour
  • Animals waiting to be hand-fed
  • Classic farm-style store
  • Cafe

Located on a gorgeous hillside. There is no charge to enter the property, but train rides, animal feed, food and beverages are available for purchase on site. Don’t forget to check out “Planet Bee” right next door while you’re there!

Scandia Golf & Games

Looking for a fun time? You’ll find it here. Go-carts, mini golf, arcades, batting cages, food and more.

Myra Canon Adventure Park

Just 20 minutes from downtown Kelowna and worth the drive. Fun for ages 3+ includes:
